A promising homestand ended with a dud on Wednesday at Coors Field, when the Rockies forgot their bats at home.Houston two-hit the home team to beat the Rockies, 4-1, splitting the two-game series and erasing the feel-good vibes from Colorado’s series win over the Yankees to start the second half of the season.Austin Gomber was solid for five innings before Chas McCormick broke open the low-scoring affair with a two-run homer, and Gomber got zero run support a day after the Rockies bullpen tossed eight scoreless innings in a 4-3 win.Gomber and Astros right-hander Brandon Bielak sailed through the first couple innings, but the Rockies southpaw ran into trouble in the third, when Mauricio Dubón’s RBI double made it 1-0.Related ArticlesColorado Rockies | Rockies Mailbag: German Marquez’s future, Bud Black’s job security and trade deadline thoughts Colorado Rockies | Rockies relievers humble Astros in 4-3 victory at Coors Field Col...

It includes expansive meadows, ponds, a creek and one slice of a historic trail built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. What the city did not acquire is access to the only road leading to the property. That was not for lack of trying, according to city lawyers. Six months before the Axton family donated its spacious ranch, the city contacted Beth Eden Baptist Church in Wheat Ridge, which owns Camp Eden Road. But the ensuing negotiations failed time and again.“Despite over a year of communicating about an easement and many months negotiating the terms of an easement, the two parties were ...
